How I Cracked a Product-Based Company from Service Based Company:
I graduated from a Tier 3 college in 2018. When I first joined, the college placements were quite promising. However, as time passed and my graduation approached, the placement opportunities dwindled.
Since on-campus placements weren’t an option for me, I moved to Chandigarh with all my important documents (my degree and school certificates). Within 15 days, I secured a job at a startup with around seven employees. Don’t ask for a Package it was just a pocket money😅 , but I gained valuable experience at my first company. After 10 months, I transitioned to another company.
Fast forward to 2023, and I decided to switch organizations for better learning opportunities and a slight financial improvement. My goal wasn’t necessarily to land a job at a product-based company, but rather to find a better position than my previous ones.
I began scheduling numerous interviews and applying through various platforms like Naukri, Indeed, and LinkedIn. I found that LinkedIn was the most effective, accounting for about 95% of my interview opportunities.
After four months of job hunting, applying to over 200 companies, and giving around 70 interviews, I gained significant insight into the job market and the application process.
After 4 months of persistent effort and countless interviews, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve secured a SDE 2 position at ZIVAME. This journey has been challenging, but it has taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, determination, and the importance of continuous learning. I’m excited to embark on this new chapter and look forward to growing and contributing to ZIVAME. Thank you for following me throughout my journey.
NOTE:
I have written the above article just to share my experience of how I cracked a Product Based Company from a Tier 3 college, so achieving your goals just requires only 3 things determination, continuous learning, and Consistency.
